There are several techniques for cleaning the carpets that you can use at home. Those are dry vacuum washing, beat washing, moist cleaning or cleaning chemicals.

Dry cleaning with vacuum

This is something that most of us probably do every day, or else it must be done daily to keep your home clean and safe. Cleaning your carpet with a regular type of dry vacuum cleaner allows you to clean it from dust and dirt, greatly reducing the effect of allergies that your carpet can produce by accumulating all those unwanted stuff on it.

Beat washing carpets

Beat cleaning really helps you get rid of a lot of dirt and dust especially if it’s done during the snowy winter. But of course, such cleaning can not be done very often and in some cases it is difficult at all, as with glued or nailed carpeting.

If you live in a snowy area you can first cover your carpet with a lot of snow and sweep it off. This way you’ll do the extra frost cleaning against some bacteria and greatly improve your carpet color without having to do a moist cleaning and wait for your carpet to get dry again. You can spread your carpet on the ground for these snow beating or hang it in the spot where you’ll beat it and play a little snowball battle with it.

Humid washing and water purification

These two types of carpet cleaning can both be mixed and done separately. You should do your carpet ‘s hand water washing or use a water purification vacuum cleaner for it. Even though after such washing your carpet will get rid of a lot of dust and bacteria, many stains will be washed away and the carpet will recover a lot of its color, you should be careful to dry it very well afterwards; since moist carpets are an excellent dwelling place for pathogenic bacteria and mold.

When you do a chemical cleaning, you add some special solutions to the water for carpet cleaning. In most cases before you go ahead and apply your solution to the whole carpet, it’s better to try on some corner of it to see if it won’t ruin the coloring of the carpet. Simply washing the carpet with a chemical solution or vacuuming it is not enough. After washing with water you would have to do the extra, so that the chemicals can wash off the carpet. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting allergic reactions at home on this sort of carpet.
